The Beyond is an Italian horror directed by Lucio Fulci, this is the second film in Fulci's trilogia della morte - along with Paura nella città dei morti viventi (City of the Living Dead, 1980) and Quella villa accanto al cimitero (The House by the Cemetery, 1981). The film has gained a relatively strong cult following over the decades: in 1998 Quentin Tarantino restored the film and released it for the first time in the United States of America, in full; the film was also screened in a restored version in 2004 at the 61st Venice Film Festival, in the context of the section Storia secrete del cinema italiano - Italian Kings of the B’s.
